In the context of the Belgian presidency of the European Union The Power station is opening the doors for design for the first time! FIGHTING THE BOX - 20 Belgian designers unveil the story behind the products in cooperation with 20 international businesses. The finished product is central to this, ready to use. However the public can also get to know the various phases of the development process that precede this and from the initial idea of the designers. Preparatory outlines, 3D studies and models show how each designer works in a different way in the search for an industrial product. In short the story of the object: from design to collective object. Industrial design is a complex matter between dream and action, between technology and invention, between need and desire, between personal challenges, production techniques and social context. A constant battle worth discovering. The interchange between creative challenges and the industrial world is consequently also the basis for this exhibition.
