After Paris, Brussels is the place where young designers of “Specimen” contemporary furniture editions present their first collection:
Specimen reveals a top selection of products on the boundary between works of art and industrial products in limited series.
The approach by Specimen consists of giving a generation of emerging designers an opportunity to overcome the constraints of industrial production and thereby to realise more personal, poetic and extraordinary projects.
Specimen does not have a fixed show rooms, it tries to establish partnerships with exhibition venues in France and abroad. This relates to the creation of exchange programmes and to opening up other forms of artistic expression. This allows Specimen products to travel and promote French design beyond the borders of the hexagon. This is the “pop-up” gallery model, genuine ephemeral show rooms that blossom within cultural events.
Prospectives O10 brings together works by the designers: Constance Guisset, Sylvain Rieu-Piquet, Guillaume Delvigne, Pierre Lota and Olivier Grégoire.
Taken from the medical field, the O10 mark refers to pregnancy and childbirth. The exhibition gives birth to samples, representative models of a new being … specimens.
